Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Screening (HCM)

About 1 in 200,000 High School athletes die each year from Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. This is an abnormal thick muscle in the left ventricle.

Usually there are no signs or symptoms of HCM. This heart problem can cause an abnormal electrical conduction during exercise that can cause sudden cardiac arrest and/or sudden death.

An echocardiogramis a quick and painless procedure that can screen your child for this heart problem. There are no known side effects from diagnostic ultrasound and an echocardiogram is the Gold Standard in detecting HCM.

The cost for an echocardiogram is around $400, we are offering a free heart screen on your child at no cost when you have your Cardiogram Screening done. There will be a charge of $75 for each additional child.

Don’t let your child fall into the statistics; schedule your child for a free screening today. The risk is low that your child has this heart problem, but taking your chances and just thinking they have a healthy heart could cost them their life.
